Exterior Painting in Lawrence, KS

About the Project

This home in east Lawrence hadn’t been painted since it had been built, so after 10 or 15 years, it was plenty due for a new coat. Absolute Painting’s team came out and pressure washed the house thoroughly. Because it was so faded, it was quite chalky. Rinsing away as much of that chalky residue as possible was important for proper adhesion of the new paint. We caulked the seams and nail holes in the sheet siding to make sure that it was sealed according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

After we covered the windows with tape and plastic, we applied a nice, even coat of Sherwin Williams exterior Super Paint to the siding and soffits, and then hand painted the trim boards and the railing. We even painted the gutters and downspouts to get rid of the “dry” look the powder coating had gotten over the years. Last of all, we put a splash of color on the house by putting a refresh coat on the red front door.
